DescriptionMax Young (max.young@roberthalf.com) with Robert Half Finance is recruiting a full-time Staff Accountant for an established real-estate firm. This Staff Accountant position is for candidates who can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role will involve internal reporting during the monthly close, participation in compliance, interaction with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and reviewing schedules reporting processes. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Los Angeles, California area, at a company where effort is rewarded. Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Prepare analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management to report on
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Requirements
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Solid understanding of month end closings
Accounts Payable (AP) experience required
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines
