Staff Accountant

DescriptionRobert Half Finance is searching for an efficient Staff Accountant to join their growing team on a full-time basis. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You will put your skills towards the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting

Participate in various department-wide initiatives

In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts

Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request

Conduct month end close and compose journal entries with minimal supervision

Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments

Requirements

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

ERP system experience

Be detailed, flexible, and organized

Month end closings experience

Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired

Demonstrated knowledge of Budget Processes

Foundational knowledge in account reconciliation

Adeptness in Microsoft Dynamics AX

Accounts Receivable (AR) experience

Experience with Balance Sheet Reconciliation

3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
