We are currently seeking a motivated professional to serve as an Electrical Construction Inspector. Parsons is known for delivering large and complex projects within budget and to the highest quality standards, and we could use your skills to help us maintain our excellent reputation.Parsons is working under several BART contracts to assist the client in rebuilding the system in accordance with approved plans and specifications as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures. Our work is assigned based on approved budgets and schedules. As such, our electrical construction inspector positions are contingent upon the award of task orders and require the team to spend several months at the assigned locations. The successful candidates should have experience in all phases of high voltage/substations construction including civil work, cable and routing work, systems integration, and others. In this position, your efforts will help ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance with applicable regulations set forth by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (CALOSHA).Responsibilities:

Field engineering services overseeing on-going construction as directed by the Resident Engineer/Special Projects Manager;

Keeps and maintains daily reports documenting observations, labor, equipment, and issues encountered in the Contractor's performance of the work;

Reviews approved contract submittals, contract specifications, and contract drawings, and field verify and document the construction of approved materials and equipment per contract specifications and drawings;

Takes and catalogs photographs of work in progress or problems encountered on the construction site;

When directed, collects and maintains Force Account Records for additional work directed by the Resident Engineer/Special Project Manager;

Periodically examines Contractor QC and QA records to assure Contractor records are complete and current;

Assists in the documentation of Change Notices/Change Orders, including justifications and estimates;

When requested, assists in the review of Claims and Potential Claims;

Other tasks as directed by the Resident Engineer/Special Project Managers

Assist with as-builts and provide redline drawings.

Qualifications:

10+ years of related construction inspection experience, including at least 5+ years of relevant electrical inspection experience with constructing transportation infrastructure, with the majority of that experience on substation/high voltage projects.

Associate's or equivalent degree in a technical discipline or construction-related field or a high school diploma and equivalent work experience.

In-depth understanding of electrical facilities construction and existing facilities retrofits/repairs

Ability to work several months at assigned field locations

Formal certification from an independent organization, depending on the type of inspection assignment may be required.
