The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Office of Information Technology is seeking qualified candidates for the temporary contractor staffing position of Chief Program Architect-Child Welfare Program in Atlanta, Georgia. The person filling this position will work to support the design and development of the ACF-mandated Child Welfare application. This individual will then continue to work as a technical team member tasked to redesign and modernize the current DHS/DFCS child welfare technology systems in compliance with the requirements of the CCWIS. The Chief Program Architect will be accountable for analyzing and designing the application and infrastructure architecture to meet business and technical requirements for Child Welfare program modernization; This includes creating and maintaining documented standards, assessing new products and methods, and developing and implementing appropriate IT practices across the system. The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization on architecture is critical. Job Description: The Chief Program Architect will support all Child Welfare modernization projects. One will be needed to ensure that newer technology and architectural design are used to meet the business requirements set by the customer. The Chief Program Architect will provide support and leadership for integrating and designing new and enhanced systems across multiple Systems. Enhances information architecture team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions for team members, coaching improved processes, and mentoring team members. Identifies user requirements by researching and analyzing user needs, preferences, objectives, and working methods; studying how users consume content, including data categorization and labeling; meeting with focus groups. Plans information architecture by studying the site concept, strategy, and target audience; envisioning architectural scheme, information structure, features, functionality, and user-interface design; creating user scenarios; preparing data models; designing information structure, work-and dataflow, and navigation; evaluating information representation; conducting creative meetings. Organizes information by translating user behavior into media structure and elements; crafting interactive experiences; producing workflow diagrams, user scenarios, flowcharts, and storyboards; preparing interaction specifications, navigation rules, organization of information, and site maps; coordinating with business, technology, visual, structural, editorial, cognitive, and brand strategists. Validates information delivery by developing and completing usability test plans, evaluating traffic patterns, studying user feedback, and coordinating with Usability Specialists. Enhances the organization's reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Qualifications Candidate has more than ten years of experience in IT or related field The candidate has 5-10 years of application development programming experience Proven work experience as Lead/Chief Program Architect Hands-on experience in software development and system administration Knowledge of strategic IT solutions Extensive knowledge of computer hardware and networking systems Familiarity with programming languages like Javascript, Java, SQL, Oracle Familiarity with operating systems like Windows, Linux, and databases like Oracle Experience in cloud computing and cloud Technologies Excellent communication skills you should be adept at listening to, understanding, and explaining key concepts to managerial and technical resources. Good Anticipation and problem-solving skills an expert lead architect should be able to anticipate where problems might crop up and find solutions before the system gets deployed. Ability to deal with pressure must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
