The Newark Beth Israel Medical Center management and staff abide by the philosophy that all patients are to be treated with respect, dignity, and sensitivity.To maintain adequate circulatory and respiratory support during open heart surgery. This support includes: Set-up and operation of the extra-corporeal circuit, set-up and calibration of physiological monitoring, autotransfusion, stat lab operation, as well as maintaining proper perfusion records. The Perfusionist is responsible for the set-up and operation of advanced life support systems including: intra-aortic balloon pump and ventricular assist devices. REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an educational program accredited by Council on Allied Health Education Administration (CAHEA) Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or eligible for certification exam which must be passed within one year of becoming eligible Valid New Jersey State Perfusion License BCLS Certified or certification to be obtained within 3 months of hire date It is the responsibility of the perfusionist to maintain and provide proof of certification, licensure and BCLS certification for hospital recordsNewark Beth Israel Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity EmployerRWJBarnabas Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer
