Job Description: Work directly under the field supervisor to provide services to CAPS Industrial and Commercial Customers. Must have the ability to read Plans, measures up, lays out, assembles, installs, and repairs sheet metal parts, equipment, and products by performing the following duties in a safe and professional manner. Job Duties: Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of assembling and installing sheet metal products.

Selects gauge and type of sheet metal such as galvanized iron, copper, steel, or aluminum, or nonmetallic material such as plastics or fiberglass.

Installs assembled products in supportive framework according to blueprints.

Inspects installation for conformance to specifications.

Repairs and maintains sheet metal products.

Education and/or Experience:

Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write simple correspondence and keep daily job log/ time tickets in English. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization in English.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to resolve issues with customers or customer’s agents in a timely and professional manner while looking after the companies interests as well.

Physical Demands: The ability to lift 60 lbs or more; be able to work in extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time, able to work in tight locations often high above the ground. Work Environment: Sheet metal technicians will be required to work outdoors on roof tops and inside tight, confining spaces under extreme temperature conditions in places like, but not limited to chemical plants, refineries, commercial lease spaces, high-rise buildings, schools, universities, hospitals and off shore platforms.
