Job DescriptionJoin the Clean Energy RevolutionBecome an Engineering Manager in Field Engineering at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers that provide planning and troubleshooting support to their local districts and major customers. Your team will be tasked with sponsoring and generating scope for capital projects, commissioning generation projects, and supporting Integrated System Planning (ISP) on load growth and completion of the Distribution System Plan (DSP). As an Engineering Manager in Field Engineering, your work will help power our planet, reduce carbon emissions and create cleaner air for everyone. Are you ready to take on the challenge to help us build the future?A day in the life - Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and consistency of scope being produced by their Region per the tenants of the capital programs as defined in the General Rate Case (GRC), evaluation of SCE easements and fee owned property for release/quitclaim in a timely manner for Real Properties.

Collaborate with Technical Planning throughout the design process to balance affordability and operability.

Responsible for the timely reporting of all significant safety incidents.

Conduct regular meetings with team to cover safety topics and continually develop their technical and leadership skills to prepare them for their next position.

Serve as an expert witness advocating the Company’s position at various legal or regulatory proceedings on issues dealing with the construction, operations and expansion of the distribution system.

Partners with Distribution System Planning to provide detailed scope based on high level needs for projects going to Request for Proposal (RFP) as part of Distribution Infrastructure Deferral Framework (DIDF).

QualificationsThe essentialsFive or more years of experience as a supervisor or an Engineer, Planner or Operator in electric utility Power Transmission and/or Distribution system modeling or planning.

The preferredBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related STEM field

Professional Engineer’s License preferred.

Experience with developing and conducting training programs.

Experience with power system transmission or distribution analysis tools, such as PSLF, OMS, DMS, EMS, CYME, CAPE, and/or MDI.

Ability to interface, communicate effectively and collaborate with clients, peers, project personnel, and all levels of management enterprise-wide to develop solutions and ensure partner agreement

You should know …Work Mode: When a return-to-office date has been determined, this position’s work mode is hybrid . The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
