DescriptionGreat opportunity for a Controller in the Coachella Valley!Robert Half is currently hiring a Controller for a local hospitality company.Controller Requirements:

Degree in accounting/finance

Strong working knowledge of Excel

Strong understanding of US GAAP

7+ years of high-level accounting experience ideally in a controller role

Background in hospitality or country clubs

Controller Requirements:

Preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

Monthly revenue & budget analysis

Cash Flow reporting & forecasting

Overseeing & Supervision of accounting department and daily accounting responsibilities

Overseeing of Payroll and payroll department

Must Haves:

strong understanding of US GAAP

Strong understanding of POS Systems

Strong working knowledge of payroll, journal entries, budgets & forecasting, and reconciliation processes.

Vow to meet business deadlines

Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

Great attention to detail

Demonstrated ability to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel

Great Plains (GPAC) experience preferred

US GAAP experience

Account reconciliation experience

Adeptness in Manage Budgets

Demonstrated knowledge of forecasting

Solid understanding of GAAP Accounting

Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills

7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

Self-starter and strong ethical standards

Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred

Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity
