Staff Accountant

DescriptionMax Young (max.young@roberthalf.com) with Robert Half Finance is looking for a Staff Accountant for a full-time opportunity with a rapidly growing advertising technology company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the West Los Angeles, California area, at a company where effort is rewarded.Your responsibilities in this role

Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision

Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation

Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation

Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable

Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives

Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations

Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease

Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation

Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Requirements

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

Bank reconciliations experience preferred

Month-end Close Activities experience

Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)

Proven knowledge of month end closings

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

Outstanding analytical, quantitative and social skills

Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines

2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision
