Custodian

Adecco is currently assisting one of our clients in the San Fernando Valley looking for a Custodian for a health food and supplements company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a wide variety of routine cleaning duties to ensure a safe and sanitary work environment. This position is a long-term temporary position. Keeps offices and plant facilities clean and orderly. This includes:

Using brooms, vacuums, floor waxers, burnishers, powered equipment and mops to clean floors.

Picking up and disposing of trash and litter in compactor and other trash receptacles.

Using rags, sponges and brushes to clean furniture and fixtures.

Washing walls and other surfaces.

Collects and crushes cardboard and fiber board drums; utilizes bailer to contain trash materials.

Maintains documentation of completed work.

Will follow all safety procedures

To be considered for this Custodian position, you:

A High School diploma or GED is required.

Three to six months prior janitorial experience, with a working knowledge of cleaning activities, use of power and manual tools, and cleaning products,

Must be able to read all directions in English

Ability to write basic English to maintain cleaning logs and work description charts.

Stand/walk and perform physical labor for a full working shift. Pull, push, squat, etc. to accomplish thorough cleaning. Perform repetitive job duties for much of the time. Intermittently lift loads of up to 50 pounds.

The employee is required to wear safety glasses, a uniform cover, hairnet, steel-toed shoes, dust mask, various types of protective gloves, and plastic aprons, as necessary.

Must be able to work 6:00pm - 6:30am on alternating days, weekends included.
