Job Description

Claiborne Senior Living is hiring full and part time Staff Nurses to provide quality care to the residents of our assisted living community in Thibodaux, Louisiana. If you are a kind, compassionate leader with a heart for seniors, come join our team!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides direct resident care; assist CNAs as required.

Documents residents’ response and the effectiveness of nursing intervention, including the administration of PRN medication.

Assists residents in their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) tasks as needed and directed. This includes bathing, grooming, personal and dental hygiene, transportation to meals and activities, bowel and bladder functions (e.g., take to bathroom, portable commode, change incontinency products, etc.), shaving, dressing, and hair care.

Transcribes physician’s order to residents’ charts.

Responds to resident’s needs promptly while maintaining each resident’s self- respect, personal dignity, personal safety and confidentiality.

Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs and records electronically.

Uses Universal Precautions and follow established policies concerning exposure to blood/body fluids.

Serves and protects the community by adhering to professional standards, community policies and procedures, state and local requirements.

Updates job knowledge by participating in education opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations and maintaining certification/licensure.

Maintains a safe and secure environment for all staff, residents and guests, following established safety standards.

Encourages teamwork through cooperative interactions with co-workers and other departments.

Performs other duties consistent with the position as assigned.

Salary: $18.00 to $21.00 /hour
