Additionally, theSection Managerisresponsible for employee performance development and assessment and to ensure all personnel are properly prepared and trained for the scope of their task. TheSection Manageris apart of the C2BFR software leadership team, helping to achieve the department goals, participating or leading initiatives in program execution, innovation and quality improvements using Agile, DevOps and Six Sigma methods.Specific Section Manager Duties Include :Ensure that each employee has suitable work assignments and opportunities for growth and advancementProvide coaching, career development and salary planning for the sectionEnsure section members adhere to Raytheon policy and support Raytheon’s vision and goalsEnsure section members are trained for their role and assigned tasksProvide technical or managerial contributions to one or more Radar domain programsImprove productivity and quality of the section’s efforts/productsSupport to the Software Engineering Department Manager and DirectorateWork as a technical lead or individual contributor; Section Manager duties on average are 10% of the manager’s timeThis position requires an Active Secret DoD Clearance.Required Skills/Experience:10+years of experience in Software or Systems EngineeringDemonstrated success managing a projectTeam leadership and managementRadar domain or embedded systemsC/C or AdaDevOps/Agile tools and techniquesStrong communication skills, interpersonal and decision-making skillsEarned Value managementRequired Education:BS or MS with an emphasis inComputer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software EngineeringDesired Skills/Experience:Prior experience in a Section Manager or Program Leadership roleAgile scrum master or product ownerSoftware metrics and cost estimationCustomer focus and collaboration skillsEffective presence and influential leadership capability, with the ability to interact with senior levels of leadership effectively – including customers, Raytheon teammates and suppliersProven experience with software development techniques and toolsEVMS certifiedExperience with the Estimate at Complete (EAC) processExperience with software bids on proposalsMaster’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Software EngineeringKeywords: software, manager, leadership, technical, radar, radar systems, c, c, ada, agile, devops and six sigma, earned value, evms, program, estimate, proposal, bidAt Raytheon Technologies (RTX), we innovate to create solutions and solve complex challenges across all domains: from land and sea to air, space, and cyberspace.
