As an OFP Weld Manufacturing Engineer (Variable Shift) for John Deere Harvester Works located in East Moline, Illinois, you will provide Weld ME support and basic trouble shooting for current welding operations on a multi - shift line. In addition, you will:

Lead the development of capital expenditure justifications by developing accurate cost estimates for: equipment, tooling, facilities & labor.

Provide project management leadership to capital, expansion & improvement projects.

Lead team studies related to capacity, productivity & efficiency.

Lead team(s) to address quality issues by utilizing Root Cause Analysis & Mistake Proofing by gathering & analyzing data. Working with design, tooling, advanced technologies, maintenance & other functional areas to resolve issues.

Identify & implement Continuous Improvement (CI) projects (ie: cost reduction, quality, safety & product delivery)

Work with electronic tools to perform engineering functions. Examples are: ProE, WeldPRO, SAP, MPplanner, C-projects, etc.

Establish part routings, proper operating methods, documentation such as Mechanical Data Sheets, sequence of events, layouts, tool conception and design, part and equipment costs, quality plans and labor standards.Visa Sponsorship is NOT available for this position.Click or Tap Here to APPLY NOW!What Skills You Need:

Experience programming and troubleshooting robotic welding (ie: preferably Fanuc systems)

Knowledge of manufacturing weld processes, quality, tooling, tool design, total preventative maintenance and facilities.

Knowledge of capital budgeting and equipment justification.

Experience in project management and business planning; small strategic projects or large tactical projects.

Ability to work off-shift and weekends as neededWhat Makes You Stand Out:

Experience with shop floor manufacturing and incentive pay systems such as Continuous Improvement Pay Plan (CIPP).

Understanding of the Enterprise Product Delivery Process (EPDP).

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing through the John Deere Quality Production System (JDQPS) or similar Quality Production System.

Work experience in a union environment.

Bachelors / Masters degree in Weld EngineeringEducation:

Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
