Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior-Level Software Quality Engineer (SQE) to join our Functional Software Quality Team in Berkelely, MO, Chicago, IL, Colorado Springs, CO, El Segundo, CA Huntington Beach, CA, Huntsville, AL, Long Beach, CA, Mesa, AZ, North Charleston, SC, Oklahoma City, OK, Plano, TX, Ridley Park, PA, San Antonio, TX, Seal Beach, CA, supporting Boeing Software Quality Engineering at the Enterprise level.Our team of highly-motivated, customer-focused quality engineer's partners with BDS, BGS, BCA, AvionX programs to help develop and maintain a culture of first-time quality throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC). As a member of this team, you have the autonomy and responsibility to work with other SQE teams to help improve the Processes and Practices of our SQE teams that have oversight over software products - whether developed by Boeing or provided by suppliers.Occasional travel may be required but would be less than 15%.Position Responsibilities:

  • Works across multiple SQE teams to analyze and help create/update existing software processes, plans, and standards
  • Monitors and investigates process or product that are in non-compliances to defined standards and practice. Also monitors root cause implementation and coordinates corrective actions that are needed at the enterprise level
  • Teams up with SQE teams to monitor and evaluate supplier software development performance
  • Acts as an independent set of eyes and ears for overall software quality for Boeing Engineering and their customers. Highlighting potential best practices as well as areas of improvement
  • Use analytical/critical thinking to work with SQE teams to analyze and outline workflow steps for SQE product delivery. Work with automation teams on possibly automating these workflows
  • Partners with SQE teams with analysis of program/project software quality metrics with the goal to standardize and improve software quality and manage risk across programs
  • Stepping in to support project quality efforts when projects require SQE support for a delivery
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location optionsThis position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 4+ years' experience with the software development lifecycle (requirements analysis, design, code, integration & test)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Software quality assurance / software quality engineering experience
  • Knowledge of AS9115 and DO-178 requirements or other software regulatory standards
  • Hands-on experience in any of the following areas: software developer, software test engineer, software process development, software product and process compliance
  • Involvement with products developed using Agile software development practices
  • Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, DevOps and associated tools
Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience).
