If you’re interested in moving mountains in your career, come work with us at Breckenridge where you’ll instantly feel at home. www.vailresortscareers.comAs of Nov. 15, 2021, Vail Resorts will be requiring all employees across North America to be vaccinated for COVID-19.Job Summary:Based in Breckenridge, the Health and Safety Senior Specialist supports the Health and Safety Sr. Manager in the development and implementation of all health and safety programs for Breckenridge, other mountains and also at times will support the hospitality divisions. This applies to both winter and summer operations.Job Responsibilities:Work closely with operations personnel and influence key-stakeholders to assure employee/guest safety is highly visible and is managed proactively day-to-day

Conduct weekly audits related to safety and health on-mountain and/or property.

Assure incident investigations findings are documented and tracked and assure completion of corrective actions.

Support the implementation of company safety policies and programs to prevent unsafe work practices.

Present training programs related to health and safety

Review loss information and provide information on trends

Provide technical support to management and employees on all subject matter related to safety

Establish a strong presence in mountain operations and mountain dining while working closely with various levels of management.

Attend department leadership meetings on a regular basis and participate in senior leadership meetings when necessary.

Act as Health and Safety Lead when Health and Safety Manager is not there

Assure company compliance with national standards such as OSHA, ANSI, NFPA and other national safety regulatory agencies.

Maintain communication with project managers representing 3rd party contractors on site.

Job Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a health and safety related field or equivalent work experience

Advanced skier/snowboarder

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Proven ability to work within a team and build relationships across departments and functions

Demonstrated commitment to workplace health and safety

Ability to work weekends and holidays

Ability to work outside for long periods of time in variable weather conditions

Ability to work independently.

Ability to develop and implement presentations and trainings in front of large groups of people.

Strong understanding of all Microsoft Office programs.

Preferred Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in health and safety or related field

Knowledge of OSHA, Ski Safety Act and other applicable regulations

Previous Vail Resorts experience

Familiarity with Breckenridge Mountain

Minimum of 3 years of relevant business experience

The budgeted range starts at $45,000 - $62,000 + annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.The perks include a free ski pass, and a set of benefits includingMedical, Dental, Vision insurance, and a 401(k) retirement plan

Hourly employees are generally eligible for accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), Extra Time Off (ETO) and Sick Time. Salaried employees are generally eligible for Flexible Time Off (FTO)
