As an Associate Network Technician, you can expect to have these responsibilities:
  • Cable installation and testing of Category 5e, Category 6 cabling to comply with ANSI/TIA/standards
  • Able to work at various heights using ladders or overhead lifts
  • Ability to install/make/test/terminate network cabling to network patch panels, 110 blocks and data jacks
  • Familiar with test equipment: Fluke cable testers, Net Tool, Tone & probe, power drill/driver, RJ45 crimper, Punch down, wire wrap tool
  • Testing and troubleshooting LAN Drops using Fluke Tester and Net Tool
  • IP phone configuration and deployment
  • Provides diagnosis and problem resolution of general connectivity related issues
  • Maintains high degree of technical expertise in relevant cabling standards
  • Office move setup, configuration, and rewires
  • Provide on-call after hours support as needed
To be successful, you'll need experience such as:
  • Ability to install/make/test/terminate network cabling to network patch panels, 110 blocks and data jacks
  • Able to work at various heights using ladders or overhead lifts
  • Ability to understand, create and maintain cabling maps and documentation.
  • Knowledge of Intermediate Distribution Facility (IDF) Main Distribution Facility (MDF) rooms
  • Knowledge of structured cabling system that includes both copper and fiber.
  • Knowledge of rack mounting and removal of network equipment.
  • Knowledge of phone system wiring, and termination preferred.
  • Knowledge of installation, and testing fiber connectivity within the datacenter and building infrastructure
  • Must have the ability to interpret technical information and present it effectively both verbally and in-writing to a wide variety of audiences.
  • Must have driver's license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation (may require driving between building locations during the work day, usually within a 1 to 10 mile radius; work-related mileage is eligible for reimbursement)
  • Software skills: Microsoft Office

Travel:
  • Must have a valid driver's license, private transportation, and current automobile insurance.
  • This position will require to travel and transport company assets to different campus location/environment (usually short trips in the north Dallas and Richardson Texas area, across business campseveral buildings in the area).
  • Reimbursement available for approved business-related mileage.

  • Physical requirements of this role include ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs, work in confined spaces, sit at desk and work on computer for sustained periods of time
