Job Description

Title: Harvest Crew Member

Compensation:

Hourly wage based on experience and qualifications

Harvest bonus potential

General Position Summary:

This job will be directly involved in all aspects of preparation, execution, and conclusion

of harvest. In addition, this job will require the employee to complete a variety of tasks

that will vary throughout the harvest season. Members of the harvest crew assist farmers

with a wide range of general agricultural tasks such as operating machinery and

equipment and assisting in the harvesting, and storage of crops. The job is a temporary,

full-time, entry-level position.

Essential Responsibilities May Include:

Mechanical maintenance and repair of vehicles, equipment, and machines

Hauling grain locally

Operation of field machinery (combine, tractor, semi-trucks, etc.)

Operation of hand and power tools

Maintenance of yards/properties, fields, buildings, and grain bins

Climbing bins during the loading and unloading process

Secondary Responsibilities:

Fetch parts for vehicles

Rodent control

General cleaning and organization

Tracking hours on personal timesheet and submitting on time

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position is not supervisory in nature

Requirements:

Valid driver’s license, with good record

Good interpersonal, communication, and time management skills

Ability to read, write, and understand English

Must be able to pass a background check

Drug, alcohol, and tobacco free workplace

Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders upwards of 40 feet, bend and twist, and

perform repetitive tasks

Ability to work all days of harvest (ie. no planned days off July 30-November 1st)

Must be dependable and self-motivated

Job Conditions:

Working conditions include working alone with minimal supervision for extended

periods of time, working with others, operating from specific and detailed instructions,

extensive driving, heavy equipment operation, working outside in varying weather

conditions, working long and/or irregular hours, frequent interruptions and changes in

scheduled duties. The employee may be required to work in an environment where there

is dust and dirt, fumes, building temperature fluctuations, noise, and chemicals.
