Methodist Hospital is home to a 158 acute-care bed facility with 1120 employees 283 medical staff and 29 Emergency Department beds. Methodist Hospital also owns and operates Bruceville Terrace – a 171-bed sub-acute skilled nursing long-term care facility adjacent to the hospital that provides care for the elderly as well as those requiring extended recoveries. Methodist Hospital is home to the Family Medicine Residency Program an accredited and nationally recognized program which provides resident physicians with specialty training in primary care family medicine. Together the hospital and residency program implemented a ground-breaking curriculum addressing the identification treatment and assistance of human trafficking victims and created a one-of-a-kind health clinic for victims the Human Trafficking Medical Home.ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary:The incumbent coordinates the provision of patient meals and assures compliance with each patient's diet order. The incumbent shall perform activities including but not limited to the following: process and maintain patient diet orders via facility and/or department computer systems, write and modify menus utilizing guidelines in the diet manual and spreadsheets; adjust menus and snacks to provide patients' food preferences and age-specific needs; interview patients for their food preferences; work with patients and/or nursing staff to resolve tray service and/or food issues, check patient/resident tray line; maintain production tally information. May have access to or be required to distribute drugs, needles or syringes from storage locations, (such as large stock supplies, automated dispensing units and other carts) to/within patient care areas or treatment carts as defined by hospital policy/procedure.We offer the following benefits to support you and your family:Health/Dental/Vision Insurance

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Associate's Degree in Science - Nutrition Services.

Medical nutrition therapy, modified diets and foods substitutions, nutritional and medical terminology and basic math.

Computer literacy, experience with Windows-based computer systems and have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in a Nutrition department in a hospital.
