Job Title: Assistant BillingDepartment: Billing TeamReports To: Billing SupervisorLocation: McCormick Ambulance Billing Office, MariposaFLSA Status: Non-ExemptPosition Summary:The Assistant Billing Representative will provide administrative support by processing the incoming andoutgoing mail, pulling and printing required documents to attach to claims or refunds, and updatingdemographic information in the RescueNet system.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Prints Private Pay Invoices and preps for mailing.

Prints Medicare Signature Request forms.

Prints and processes all paper claims for mailing.

Prints required EOBS for billing, refunds, and payor appeals.

Prints required PCRS required for billing and payor appeals.

Preps all incoming mail for Cash and AR Follow-up teams to process.

Processes all hospital face sheets received by updating the system with patient and insurance

information and routing transports to appropriate billing filters.

Processes all insurance cards received by updating the system with patient and insurance

information and routing transports to appropriate billing filters.

Assists with special projects as needed.

Tracks and monitors all office supplies to submit order request form to management.

Adhere to and comply with information systems security policies and procedures. Attend

Information Systems security training, when offered, and report information system securityproblems.

Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Work overtime if assigned by management.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Be flexible with shifting daily priorities.

Meet deadlines, working within tight time constraints.

Handle a large volume of work.

Meet or exceed established standards for productivity and quality.

Minimum Qualifications:Education/Licensing/Certification: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.Must pass new-hire and department-specific testing.Experience: One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination ofeducation and experience preferred.Knowledge and Skills:

Flexible, high achiever with ability to learn quickly and meet department goals and deadlines

consecutively.

Strong attention to detail.

Organized, detail oriented with excellent follow through abilities.

Communicate effectively, both orally and written.

Good computer skills.

Strong alpha numeric data entry skills with a minimum of 35 WPM with a 90% accuracy rate.

HIPPA Requirements.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance terminology a plus.

Work in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.

Convey a sense of competence and commitment.

Use initiative to learn new skills, enhance personal knowledge and improve communications.

Demonstrate ability to work well with team members.

Demonstrate flexibility with shifting daily priorities.
