Staff Accountant

Description Robert Half has partnered with an esteemed organization in the Museum/Art Gallery/Botanical/Zoo industry to find a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. In the role of Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you'll have responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Atlanta, Georgia based company is offering this position on a long-term contract / temporary to hire basis. They provide an innovative work environment where effort is rewarded.Major responsibilitiesParticipate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments

Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process

Execute month end close, journal entries, with little supervision

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

Ready complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management Requirements - Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Great attention to detail

Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes

1+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment

Sage Accounting Software experience preferred

Comprehensive knowledge of ADP Financial Services

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

Knowledgeable of ERP systems

Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
