The Business Systems Analyst will work as part of a research team whose goal is to ensure good data governance and enable data-driven decision making for the agency. Reporting to the Chief Data Officer, the Business Systems Analyst will assist with the daily management of the department’s grant management system, AmpliFund (SaaS). This will include developing business processes and system configuration. This role will also provide troubleshooting and problem-solving for both staff and customers, working closely with the database administrator and managers to solve issues. The position will require the candidate to have the ability to evaluate program requirements and have a working knowledge of daily operations and priorities across the department. The candidate will need knowledge in data and systems management, as well as strong communication and organization skills. Qualifications / RequirementsREQUIREMENTS: Post high school coursework, training, or experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process applications. PREFERRED: Experience in grant management systems (or related systems), data analysis, economic development research, and data communication is preferred. Also preferred is having skills and experience described in the ‘Knowledge, skills, and abilities” section. OTHER: Regular and reliable attendance is required. This position may require travel infrequently for trainings and meetings. As such, the incumbent must be able to present a valid driver’s license or another form of reliable transportation. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of: relational databases, federal grant programs, government sector operations and state level economic development are preferred. Skill in: AmpliFund or other database/SAAS, project management, R, and data visualization platforms (such as Microsoft PowerBI) are also preferred.
