We invite you to learn more about an exciting opportunity called The UVM Medical Center Certified Phlebotomy Technician ITAR (Information Technology Apprenticeship Readiness) Program. Students who successfully complete the program and pass the American Society for Clinical Pathology Board of Certification's (BOC) Phlebotomy Technician exam will be offered:
Employment in an apprenticeship with The UVM Medical Center as a Phlebotomists
Comprehensive benefits package
Starting wages of $16.46 per hour (plus shift differential where applicable)
Enrollment in a USDOL registered apprenticeship, providing advance-level education, mentorship, and an opportunity to increase wages
Performance-based increases to hourly wages at prescribed intervals
Monthly performance evaluations with specific pre-defined performance metrics that justify wage increases
There are no direct costs associated with The UVM Medical Center Certified Phlebotomy Technician ITAR Program. The program is supported in part by the US Department of Labor, Vermont Department of Labor, and The UVM Medical Center. Students are provided with all necessary materials to participate, including textbooks and laptop computers. Each graduate will receive a certificate of completion from The UVM Medical Center and Institute of American Apprenticeships at Vermont HITEC.
