- Perform research in areas including, but not limited to:
- Vehicular spectrum sharing technologies and use cases spanning entire communications protocol stack
- Communication-based sensing for information sharing needs of future generation vehicles
- Experimentation and system-level integration of a SDR-based dual-use sensing/communications system
- Investigate and contribute to the concept of knowledge-layer networking by way of helping to develop machine learning algorithms to extract knowledge and to evaluate the overall system
- Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Create publications and invention disclosures
- Prepare demonstrations and technical reports
- Contribute to research collaborations and standardization
- Assist developing and testing proof-of-concept systems using vehicles and communication devices
- Ph.D. holder in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of all layers of vehicle communication protocols, spectrum sharing, radar and other sensor systems, software-defined radio concepts, machine learning and simulation of vehicular networks.
- Strong Python and Matlab skills, familiarity with GNU Radio software environment, familiarity with network simulators and traffic simulators, familiarity with Python or Matlab-based machine learning tools.
- Capability to learn and explore new research areas
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as within a highly motivated team environment
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to respond professionally in all types of situations
