Description of Duties:
The Forklift Operator/Load Builder is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle including required pre-shift inspection checklist on both forklifts and material tow vehicles.
Load and unload material with or without the use of a forklift (unload rail cars and lumber trailers, load material deliveries on trailers).
Manage inventory placement and rotation, including identifying material grade lengths and counts.
Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
Build material loads accurately and efficiently.
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
This is a physically demanding job that requires lifting up to 50 lbs, repetitive bending, stooping, squatting and standing for long periods of time (up to 2 hours) as well as exposure to outside elements such as extreme heat to extreme cold.
Perform or assist in building, grounds, equipment maintenance and housekeeping as required.
Requirements:
Forklift Operator Certification
Forklift Operator experience (minimum 1 year)
High School diploma or equivalent
Strong basic math skills
Driver’s license
High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others; promote a safe work environment
