COOK (DIETARY) NEEDED-URGENT HIRE

Norton Hospitality Group (A division of Norton Healthcare Staffing & Recruiting) is looking for a Full-time Dietary Cook for a Long term care facility in the HUNTSVILLE, AL area. This is a temporary position starting ASAP.

PAY: $15/HR Hours

MUST BE VACCINATED and have a TB test within the last year.

JOB OVERVIEW:

The dietary cook is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing, portioning, and presenting a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods, including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner according to the dietary restrictions of residents.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares, seasons and cooks menu items using skill in frying, grilling and sautéing.

Performs food preparation work for cooking.

Measures and mixes ingredients according to recipe.

Portions food on serving plates.

Must be knowledgeable of dining service procedures as well as related laws, regulations and guidelines pertaining to hospital and nursing home operations.

Must accommodate specific dietary needs and special requests

Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level they are currently functioning.

May clean and sanitize workstations and equipment.

Responsible for following food safety and physical safety policies always, while utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) when required by management.

May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:

High School diploma, GED or equivalent.

ServSafe Certification Preferred (Or Required based on the job – please specific)

1 to 2 years of Cook/food prep experience.

Knowledge of basic operation of equipment

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must comply with any dress code requirements.

Attends work and shows up for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity.
