As the Director, System Engineering Team Lead for the Defense Technical Enterprise, the candidate will report to the Enterprise IT Capability Team Lead within the Defense Chief Technology Office and manage the development of technical solution baselines that we take to market and execute within our Program portfolios.The candidate will directly interface with internal and external clients on a pre-proposal and program delivery basis.Candidate will work with requirements and develop responsive solutions including staffing and other costs, review solutions developed by others, present baseline solutions to internal and external clients, develop and explain use-cases and engineering best practices with capture and proposal teams. Candidate will develop logical and physical architectures and designs. Candidate will author proposal materials including writing proposal sections and diagrams and review the work of others in this area. Candidate will recruit, hire, and make decisions regarding staff assignments, follow up with individual system engineers and others that represent the System Engineering team within Defense CTO who develop technical solutions for our proposal teams and augment program teams on program launch and periodically during the program lifecycle when augmentation of program teams is needed to meet customer requirements.Candidate will need to demonstrate proficiency and have experience in several key Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) technical domains that encompass products, services and skill areas to support Enterprise IT efforts across the Defense Technical Enterprise. Candidate does not need to have direct domain experience in all technical domain areas – however should be familiar with Cybersecurity Operations , Secure systems operation, Infrastructure (Virtualization, Storage, Compute, Database), Networking to include 4G/5G advanced wireless solutions, and Cloud Operations across on prem, hybrid, and on prem environments. In addition, the SE team lead should be conversant in Agile Delivery and Software Engineering practices to support unification of technical solutioning for enterprise requirements. Successful candidate should have an understanding and experience in the project planning and resourcing to support Basis of Estimate for proposal work, as well as execution facing efforts.Help GDIT to stand out in this highly- competitive and opportunity-rich market!Key Responsibilities include:System Engineering Leadership:Lead SE Team contributions to technical solution strategy throughout the Capture and Proposal lifecycle, developing win strategies and lead the development of Enterprise IT solution readiness plans.

Lead SE Team engagement in current and prospective customers to understand critical needs, socialize and vet solutions, and advise on strategies to shape and meet anticipated requirements that will achieve desired results.

Lead SE Team contributions to solution design and the development of key artifacts including, but not limited to architectural models, process diagrams, concepts of operation, staffing plans etc.

Lead the SE team’s engagement in management and coordination of vendor relationships leveraged across the various Enterprise IT technical domains, bringing best of breed solutioning for Growth and Program Delivery efforts.

Collaborate with GDIT technical service areas and lines of business on behalf of Defense CTO and the EIT leadership to identify and bring the best technical and business strategies and solutions to differentiate GDIT.

Lead SE Team contributions to technical volume sections, key sections and orals slides including developing compelling graphics within area of responsibility.

Advocate for improvements to IT Operations and Automation for IT Operations (AIOPS) platforms to improve/advance IT Operations and technology insertion for program delivery teams.

Leads programmatic engagements to inform active B&P efforts, collecting technical past performance metrics and accomplishments for area of responsibility to enrich growth pursuits and technical solutioning for Enterprise IT Services.

Ability to write exceptionally and to create compliant and compelling narratives that best presents GDIT’s solutions and approaches within the government’s requirements and evaluation criteria.

Program Enablement Leadership:Lead the SE teams contributions for internal stakeholders and program delivery teams which result in the curation and maintenance of a library of baseline technical delivery capabilities that reflect Defense CTO’s Point of View (POV) on EIT technologies within the marketplace and how GDIT delivers these technologies on programs.

Based on the standard technical baseline capabilities, lead the teams’ efforts to augment and support program teams through development and maintenance of standardized of build guides, hardening guides, and standard documentation (Reference Architectures, Playbooks, etc.) for solutions designed/built in the EIT Capability Lab and when engaged in program delivery efforts.

Own and curate a library of program methods and EIT capabilities honed from program execution teams that continuously inform and improve our baseline offerings for EIT Operations across the company.

Lead / Contribute to program assessment and when problems are discovered, lead the team’s development and implementation of recovery actions when requested by program leadership.

Lead the development of technology roadmaps that resonate within the Enterprise IT technical domains, providing these roadmaps to program delivery and growth teams to support digital transformation, technology modernization, and technology insertion efforts across the Defense Division.

Coordinate with Agile Delivery and Support team for all Agile PM, SCRUM, and Human Engineering aspects of Solutioning for growth efforts and program delivery functions.

Minimal Qualifications to Be Considered:Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or similar discipline or equivalent experience.

Ability to obtain and maintain up to a TS/SCI clearance.

15+ years specific cumulative experience in Information Technology Operations, IT Engineering, Cybersecurity, Lab Operations, and Project Management related fields.

Experience leading technical teams comprised of various IT disciplines, able to motivate teams to perform exceptionally over short and long duration assignments such as solutioning and program support efforts.

Experience with interfacing directly with program team and Government customers, collaborating on development of requirements and project plans to meet program objectives.

Work Conditions:Remote work location with occasional trips to Falls Church, VA office when required for in person meetings or classified materials review.

Occasional travel to customer locations or GDIT offices for assessment or presentation of solutions to stakeholder groups.

Occasional evening and weekend work to meet deadlines.

Sitting for extended periods of time in typical office setting.
