Join our mission today.Role Overview:This position is for a Senior Production Planner/Coordinator (salaried, exempt) responsible for production planning and control activities for assigned products/product lines. The Senior Production Planner/Coordinator will work independently with limited supervision when training is complete. This position will require flexibility to work non-standard business hours similar to a swing shift or 2nd shift.The Senior Production Planner/Coordinator will act on ERP exceptions, internal business information and guidance from Supervisor and Manufacturing, current inventory levels and product lead-times to support Customer demand. This candidate will be responsible for meeting Customer and Company targets.Primary Responsibilities:Validate and act on MPS/MRP results through to releasing Work Orders to the Manufacturing FloorMonitor work order activity to ensure timely hand-offs between production levelsActively evaluate, mitigate, communicate delays or supply risks to Manager & Master SchedulingProvide coverage, back-up support to the Planning TeamActively participate in Detailed Production Schedule for assigned products and related operationsPerform escalated expediting when required to ensure on-time deliveryProactively interact and communicate with internal partners – Manufacturing, Logistics, Master Scheduling, Quality, Program ManagementWork with Supply Chain (Procurement) to monitor delivery status on in-bound purchased materials, components affecting planned productionActively participate as Department representative in the event an NCR (non-Conformance) is logged on assigned products/product linesParticipate in SOKO (Sales Order Kick Off) events with Master Scheduling and Program Management to support new and/or existing Customer ContractsMonitor, initiate change requests for SAP master data and other general data settings to ensure accurate system signalsActively contribute in the development of standardized process and procedure (SJI) for the Production Planning and Control teamResponsible for tracking metrics on assigned activities in order to drive results and continuous improvements in Department activityPerforms other assigned activities, including participation on Deep Dive, Quality, Operation, Manufacturing -driven process events, as assignedBasic Qualifications:Requires either a Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline and/or 6 to 15 years of Production Planning & Control work experiencePrior experience in process and/or discrete production environment with strong knowledge of Production Planning & Control.Prior experience working with Detailed Production scheduling is preferred.Requires 6+ years of work experience in an ERP environment – preferably SAPPrior experience evaluating ERP master data – Bill of Materials, Routers and data sets affecting Production PlanningAbility to provide excellent Customer Service to both external &internal CustomersAbility to work flexible shift-type hours similar to a swing shift or second shiftAbility to provide guidance to less experienced Production Planner/CoordinatorsAbility to independently, creatively problem-solve across Production Planning and Manufacturing-related issuesAbility to make independent decisions on product issues, but understands which issues to escalate to Manager and/or Manufacturing management for adviceAbility to read, analyze and interpret common SOP’s, technical documents, instructions and reportsStrong strategic, organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills requiredAbility to download, analyze ERP data with Excel based tools (e.g. Pivot Tables, Vlookup)Provide backup to other members of the Production Planning & Control team with cross-training across all products/product linesStrong computer skills with working knowledge of Windows 10 applications; Power user in Microsoft Excel is preferredAbility to lead functional meetings on behalf of Production Planning and participate on cross-functional teamsAbility to be highly adaptable to expected/unexpected changes and keep a positive attitudeAt Collins, the paths we pave together lead to limitless possibility.
