Staff Accountant

Description Are you an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy? Robert Half has an exciting opportunity at a rapidly-growing organization in the Real Estate & Property industry for a Staff Accountant. This is career-building opportunity is located in the Atlanta, Georgia region and offered on a short-term contract / temporary to hire basis. The duties of Staff Accountant include fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, and the preparation of monthly and year-end closings. This position is very involved as it will produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, you will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting. You'll also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, take part in compliance, and look over schedules for the reporting processes.How you will make an impactHelp with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

Be a part of various department-wide initiatives

Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills

Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines

Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Spreadsheet and database capabilities

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

Skilled with ERP systems

BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Proven knowledge of VLOOKUP

Pivot Table experience highly desired

Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel

Expertise in Yardi

Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel

Practical knowledge of Prepaids

Well-founded grasp of Check Runs

Comprehensive knowledge of bank reconciliations

Quality experience with accruals

General familiarity with Prepaid Expense
