Desktop Support Consultant St Paul, MN - must be onsite daily for this position ( Como Park Area ) 6+ month contract w/ option to extend or conversion to FTE Our long time direct client is looking to add 2 Desktop / IT Support Consultants to their team onsite at HQ. This organization is continuing to grow and needs extra hands within Tech Support to assist with imaging / re-imaging laptops, office consolidation items, support VPN and other PC / Laptop connectivity issues for employees ( remote / onsite ), etc. This is a great time to join as they are an established, global, mid-size, profitable (in the green, above goals the last few years ! ) and beginning a new corporate transformation!
- This person has primary responsibility for all desktop configurations and some hands-on server and network support.
- The primary role of the Desktop Support Specialist is to provide client and end-user facing aspects of corporate operations as it pertains to information technology.
- This is a technical position that requires excellent knowledge of the Mac and PC based hardware, OS 10.13 and above, Windows 7 and above, and proficiency in standard business software (including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
- This person will routinely perform tasks such as hardware installation and troubleshooting, installing and/or upgrading both proprietary and standard software packages, and printer installation and print queue support.
- The Desktop Support Specialist will be well-versed in all operational processes and procedures.
- This person will assist in improvements as necessary or requested.
- Proven corporate experience supporting PC/Mac users
- Good understanding and confidence in troubleshooting network connectivity.
- Good knowledge of VPN clients and connectors.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and customer service attitude.
