Find your future with us.The Boeing Company is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Business Operations Specialist (Chief of Staff Office) to join our team Mesa AZ, Berkeley MO, Chicago IL, El Segundo CA, Everett WA, or Seattle WA. The Enterprise Software Engineering organization is currently seeking experience business operation candidates to join the Chief of Staff Office and provide support to senior software leaders. This position requires engagement with Software engineering leaders from across the Boeing enterprise. This position requires a broad business knowledge to connect and collaborate with enterprise stakeholders to support recommendations to Enterprise Software Leadership Team. This role is responsible for supporting the preparation of Software Engineering presentations and will support internal and external communications (i.e. presentations and speeches).This role requires the ability to build relationships quickly at various levels of the organization. This role will need an understanding of prevailing function and organization issues, to support the development of recommendations on how to address them. Being successful in this position requires coordination at various organizational levels of the Engineering Test & Technology (ET&T) business unit.Position Responsibilities:

  • Support in the development and execution of the Software Engineering strategy, communications, stakeholder engagement strategy and operating rhythm
  • Support the leadership team to drive performance and accountability through the organization
  • Support various Software Leadership meetings (e.g. Risk Reviews, Finance Reviews, Program engagements) to ensure meetings are held efficiently and actions are tracked and worked
  • Support the development of meeting agendas and creation of content for webcasts, executive meetings, off sites and briefing charts
  • Assists in the development and integration of programs, plans, strategies and processes to meet business goals for authorization, such as sourcing strategy for commitment of work, cost imperatives, deployment analysis and impact mitigation
  • Supports the coordination and clarifies the analysis with business partners to validate results and determine scope to meet long range business goals and develop business case
  • Coordinates the commitments with internal and external organizations to fulfill strategies. Identifies risk and opportunity potential, develops mitigation planning and refines the business case
  • Meets with leadership to gain approval
  • Provides implementation direction for work authorization
  • Collects, organizes and provides data according to established processes within the management system to maintain status of programs, customer and supplier commitments and compliance.
  • Ensures follow up action for issue resolution
  • Provides coaching and guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Embodies excellent group collaboration, teamwork, and relationship strengthening to deliver excellence to the team and those the team supports
This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • 10+ years of experience in Program or Project Management
  • 10+ years of experience in developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with various stakeholders, peer, and business partners
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working in an engineering environment highly desirable
  • Experience with the development and execution of strategies
  • Experience with risk, issues, and opportunities identification and mitigation plans
  • Experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices
  • Experience with communication tools, processes, and image management
  • Experience with creating, editing, and publishing videos (or the desire to learn) would be appreciated
Typical Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree and typically 10 or more years' related work experience, a Master's degree and typically 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Relocation:Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
