Killington, Vermont's largest hospitality management company—the Karr Group—seeks a Sous Chef with experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced restaurant to lead our dynamic team of culinary professionals! The Sous Chef is the second in command to the executive chef and assists in creating and preparing all menu items. In this hands-on supervisory role, you ensure that the kitchen operates efficiently and that high standards are met by providing hands-on leadership, training, support, development, and management of the kitchen staff. You will ensure that all food meets the highest quality standards in order to create a memorable guest experience. The sous chef is also responsible for assisting in inventory management, ordering, and scheduling. You are an excellent communicator, are able to resourcefully solve issues as they arise, and have strong critical thinking and team-building skills. Our ideal candidate has formal culinary training and experience working in a high-volume kitchen. You have previous managerial or supervisory experience, a thorough knowledge of food safety and handling procedures, and a demonstrated ability in budgeting and cost control. You have a passion for cooking, an eye for detail, and strong leadership abilities.
