Job Posting: Electrical Project Engineer

Job Description:

As a Project Engineer - Electrical, you will be responsible for engineering, designing and drafting electrical power and lighting system design, fire alarm system design, electrical load calculations, selecting equipment and systems and coordinating with our clients and other external stakeholders in support of an integrated design process for a variety of building project types.

Position Qualifications:

2-5 years’ experience designing power, lighting, fire alarm, telecommunications and security systems for buildings. Experience with multi-family, higher education and health care preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Engineer in Training, Professional Engineer (PE) track

Experience designing Telecommunication and Security systems

Solid experience with AutoCAD and Revit

Knowledge of National Electrical Code and other related building codes

Knowledge of Electrical power and lighting systems

Knowledge of fire alarm systems

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Experience in working directly with clients

Job Responsibilities:

Understanding and documenting client needs, goals and objectives

Electrical and fire alarm system design

Designing in AutoCAD and Revit and producing specifications

Attend project meetings and coordinate technical requirements of the clients

Perform site visits and surveys

Provide construction administration duties including reviewing contractor submittals and responding to requests for information (RFI)

Time and workload management skills:

Effectively manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ensure tasks and deliverables are being completed in a timely, organized manner

Proficiently manage project information on the company file server

Technical competencies related to MEP/FP systems:

Read and understand MEP and architectural construction documents, plans, specifications, etc.

Collaborate and perform with other consultants in an integrated manner

As a Mechanical Project Engineer, you will be responsible for engineering, designing and drafting HVAC, plumbing and sprinkler systems, performing heating and cooling load calculations, energy modeling, selecting equipment and systems, and coordinating with our clients and other external stakeholders in support of an integrated design process for a variety of building projects types.

Position Qualifications

Professional and friendly with strong communication skills that navigate ambiguous problems

BSME (BS Mechanical Engineering) or BSMET (BS Mechanical Engineering Technology) degree

Registered Engineer In Training (EIT) on a Professional Engineering License track

3-5 years experience

Proficient in MEP AutoCAD, Revit, Word, and Excel.

Knowledge of the applicable Codes (Energy, Mechanical, Plumbing, NFPA, State Building codes, etc.) and industry standards

Job Responsibilities:

Produce construction documents for mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems, including drawings and specifications

Attend design meetings with architects

Perform site surveys of existing systems

Perform heating, cooling, ventilation and domestic hot water load calculations

Perform construction administration tasks (review product submittals, perform site field reports, respond to RFI’s, etc.)

Perform AutoCAD or Revit design and drafting for a variety of building types and sizes

Coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external)

Time and workload management skills:

Ensure tasks and deliverables are being completed in a timely, organized manner.

Proficiently manage project information on the company file server.

Technical competencies related to MEP/FP systems:

Read and understand MEP and architectural construction documents, plans, specifications, etc.
