Full Time Front Desk Associate

Full time 35-40 hours per week with occasional overtime.

Must be available to work at least one weekend day.

Must be available to work on or around most holidays.

Compensation $11 - $14/hour depending on related experience.

The Front Desk Associate's overall responsibility is to ensure that the client has a positive experience at Camp Bow Wow and is excited to bring their dog back for a return visit. This requires great people and dog handling skills. It requires attention to detail as well as sales and marketing skills. Communication, organization, and a positive demeanor are key to the success of the Front Desk Associate.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Greet human and canine clients. Accept and record payments. Make future reservations for clients.

Organize front desk to prepare for daily checkouts, return of client possessions, and collection of payments. Answer phones, explain services to new clients, enter reservations into business system, read and respond to camp emails.

Enter and update client information, reservations, and payments into the existing business management system. Close-out front desk ensuring cash and credit card receipts are accurate and balanced at the end of each day.

Clean front lobby area. Assist with cleaning or yard monitoring in kennel area as needed. Prepare meals for dogs and assist in back kennel area. Work closely with kennel services manager to expedite checkouts and ensure client satisfaction.

Other duties as assigned.

Will be cross-trained on camp counselor duties and dog handling before taking on the front desk associate job.

Requirements:

Very outgoing, personable, and upbeat. A good listener, good at remembering names.

Able to stay productive, efficient, and focused during many interruptions.

Must already know Microsoft Outlook.

Quick to understand computer applications and data entry requirements.

Capable of bending, stooping, reaching, moving through gates and tight spaces with and without dogs.

Easy to understand in person and on the phone. Excellent verbal and written communications.

Self-directed, needing minimal supervision after initial training.

Easy to get along with, reliable, willing to work as a team member and/or team leader.

A dog lover. Has strong knowledge of dog breeds and dog behavior. Must love dogs.

Available to work on or around most holidays, and one weekend day per week.

Education and Work Experience:

1-2 years of experience in a "relationship-based" or "repeat-customer" service environment.

Hands-on work in dog day care or veterinary practice preferred.
