Household Interviewer
Alabama, Birmingham 00000 Birmingham USA

Vacancy expired!

Westat is currently seeking motivated individuals with a commitment to excellence to collect data for an important study sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) involves in-person household interviews and medical examinations conducted in a mobile examination center (MEC).

The Household Interviewer locates and screens households to identify eligible respondents. The interviewer gains cooperation from the respondents and then conducts interviews by telephone or in person. They are also responsible for scheduling appointments for MEC exams. Interviewers meet with the Study Manager and collaborate with other NHANES staff working onsite. Household interviewers must be available for full-time, continuous travel for approximately 48 weeks out of the year, traveling to a specified location, and continuing to travel from location to location with no breaks between assignments.

The use of personal protective equipment, regular testing for COVID-19, or other screening activities is required. As a Federal Government contractor, Westat will require staff to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon hire and to follow all safety protocols, subject to approved accommodations under applicable law.

Be available to work approximately 40 hours per week at specified days/times, primarily evenings

and weekends, when work is available.

project work must ensure that they have proper documentation that meets the REAL ID

Be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable

accommodations, which include lifting and carrying 20 pounds of equipment and materials; walking

several blocks; and climbing a flight of stairs while carrying equipment.
