Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions (Frederick, MD)

We are seeking a Full Time and also a Part Time Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions to join our office and support the clinical care of our patients. If you are organized, self-motivated, and have a positive attitude, this position is for you. Our Team awaits you!

Job Description:

The individual will support dental care delivery by preparing patients, preparing treatment room, and preparing instruments and materials. Individual will be in charge of taking all necessary radiographs, and will also be in charge of maintaining/ordering supplies and materials.

Duties:

Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocol

Prepares patient for dental treatment by welcoming, comforting, and seating patient

Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area

Provides diagnostic information by exposing and developing radiographic studies, pouring, trimming, and polishing study casts.

Cleaning and polishing removable appliances

Educates patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, and postoperative instructions

Documents dental care services by charting in patient records

Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all rules and regulations

Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols

Required Skills:

2 years experience as dental assistant

Certified as Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions for Maryland

Current dental radiology certified for Maryland

Current CPR certification.

Ability to perform basic computer functions including digital x-rays
