Computer Futures is currently working with our large telecommunications client to hire an IT Project Manager (OSS/BSS) for a long term contract opportunity in Denver, CO. This person will be expected to be onsite in Denver 50% of the time and the remaining 50% can be worked remotely. The IT Project Manager (OSS/BSS) will be responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, control, and delivery of the Wireless Telecom Group Cross-Functional projects, ensuring consistency with the organization's strategy, commitments, and goals.

The IT Project Manager (OSS/BSS) will
  • Drive the implementation of WTG cross-functional projects providing leadership, guidance, industry knowledge, influence, and energy to complete the job

  • Build relationships across the organization, from senior levels to the technical teams, establishing trust and confidence to deliver the project. Need to manage not just the project, but to be a key member of the team as well.
  • Capably manage change and risk, and communicate effectively internally and externally. Team lead but willing to roll up your sleeves as well.
  • Strong knowledge and appreciation of project scope, deliverables, timeline and risk management, and delivery excellence
  • Ensure the project has the right priority to get resources assigned
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and necessary weekly/daily or ad hoc meetings
  • Identify, document, mitigate, resolve risks issues and, update program RAID as things change and evolve
  • Provide direction and support to the project team and coordinate with WTG Program managers

  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

  • Provide project evaluations and assessment of results throughout and post project deployment
  • Work with Solution Architecture, BAs, and Dev team to translate business requirements into a solution, formal agreements and plans to culminate in business acceptance of results.

  • Responsible for organizing and leading cross functional teams in developing and project deliverables; ensure that all project work streams and tasks are properly and realistically estimated, documented, scheduled and tracked.
    Convey to all team members a full understanding of the requirements of the project; work with project team members and external areas to identify and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Preparing project artifacts such as project plan, weekly status reports, RAID matrix, minutes of meetings and any other project documentation required

SKILLS:
  • Sufficient functional/technical knowledge in BSS/OSS domain to enable effective communication and execution of the project
  • Strong knowledge and experience of Agile delivery methods and tooling (SAFe, JIRA)
  • Must be able to make quick, thoughtful decisions
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and influencing skills to achieve successful results working closely with business areas and internal WTG resources

EDUCATION & OTHER EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field - computer science, engineering, business or related experience
  • Minimum 5-8 years' experience of Project Management experience, managing and delivering complex, multi-vendor technology-based End to End projects, within a service provider environment.
  • Strong preference for candidates with prior experience working with telco in the delivery of IT Wireless System Solutions or IT Telecommunication Solutions and other digital services companies
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to interact effectively with WTG management, software development and test teams, and infrastructure teams, and with business partners
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management, techniques and tools
  • Working knowledge of IT systems, Agile, Waterfall and SDLC
  • Strong negotiation/facilitation skills with an ability to gain consensus
  • Ability to facilitate solutions in a complex IT technology and business environment and able to adapt quickly to change.
  • Ability to manage expectations throughout the project implementation and delivery process.
  • Formal knowledge of Project management principles, processes, and tools (PMP certification is desirable)
  • Solid experience in MS Project Plan
