Brycon is hiring motivated, detailed, and safety-orientated Safety Officer to work with the high-tech semi-conductor team in Rio Rancho, New MexicoEssential Duties and Responsibilities Demonstrate understanding and application of OSHA regulations specific to the construction industry. Application of safe work hierarchy of controls. Perform routine hazard assessments prior to start of work and throughout the cycle of work, to include the development of project or task specific job hazard assessments (JHA) Communicate safe work practices through a coaching mentality and adapt to continuously changing environments. Read, interpret, and work within defined contractual plans and specifications. Perform routine site and task specific safety inspections including observation reporting and implementation of corrective actions. Conduct safety meetings and provide advance level training to internal and external counterparts, including internal management Ability to control an incident scene, preserve evidence, conduct, and document associated investigations, and represent the company during client review meetings Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and ability to support incident control and investigations. Work within a team setting where roaming coverage is required to ensure total site safety coverage. Other job duties as assigned Employee may be required to work extended hours (more than 8 hours per day))weekends, and holidays. Employee will be compensated based on guidelines in the Fair Labor Standards ActQualifications and Requirements High school diploma or GED. OSHA 510 Construction Industry Standards OSHA 511 General Industry Standards Advanced Certifications In – Electrical Safety, Fall Protection & Prevention, Confined Space, Excavation & Trenching, Ladder & Scaffold Safety, Machine Guarding, Hand & Power Tool Safety, Respiratory Protection, and Personal Protective Equipment First Aid/ CPR certified. Hazard Communication GHS Update Equipment certifications including MEWP, forklift, and skid steers. Clear understanding in operation of modern personal electronic devices and computers. Clear understanding of Adobe and Microsoft programs including Excel, Word, Power Point, and Outlook. Experience reporting or presenting to an audience of peers and/or management. Highly active position which requires extensive physical capabilities including standing, walking, climbing stairs and/or ladders, operating equipment, carrying, or handling of material, and working indoors or out within hot and cold environments. Ability to work 10 hours a day, 5 to 6 days a week, including non-standard evenings and/or holidays.
