General Purpose:The Software Administrator is responsible for day-to-day Information Technology (IT) related tasks, such as Personal Computer (PC) support, software installation, configuration management, and problem resolution of software on behalf of the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) staff.Essential Functions:

  • Maintains internal computer systems for MGMA staff and provides troubleshooting through to resolution.
  • Documents software infrastructure and processes and maintains documentation.
  • Ensures applicable policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Identifies opportunity for process improvements and improved organizational efficiency.
  • Serves as local point of contact for IT at the Associations corporate headquarters.
  • Troubleshoots all software applications for MGMA staff.
  • Sets up software applications for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of operating systems, and appropriate software.
  • Answers user inquiries regarding computer software to resolve problems or provide clarity.
  • Acts as administrator for MGMAs Software as a Service (SaaS) Applications, including (but not limited to) JIRA, Docusign, Zoom, Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, and Loom.
  • Works with stakeholders for new software application installation, processes, and training.
  • Provides software expertise and recommendation in response to business needs and stakeholder inquiry.
  • Interfaces with third party software vendors for implementation and issue resolution, including triaging feedback from MGMA users to vendor partners.
  • Provides support in maintenance of IT work room, supplies, and equipment through Asset Tracking software and coordination with the Associations distribution center.
  • Provides Tier 0 and Tier 1 support for common business user technical issues.
  • Assists with business support duties of the department as needed.
  • Maintains document repositories to track documentation, processes and policy creation and updates.
  • Other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the organization.

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of MGMAs mission, vision and values.
  • Strong skill in problem solving and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to prioritize, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with limited supervision.
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with team members.
  • Requires an understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems, Office Suite, computers and mobile devices in a wired/wireless network environment.
Education:
  • An Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred.
  • Microsoft Certification is preferred.
Experience:
  • Two (2) or more years of IT related work experience is required.
  • Working in an enterprise environment experience is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.Additional Requirements/Licenses

  • This is a largely sedentary role, so employee must be able to remain in a sedentary position while focusing for extended periods of time throughout the workday. Position also requires occasional movement inside the office to access file cabinets, printers, etc. While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to successfully navigate scenarios requiring the following operational abilities:
    • Ability to operate PC/keyboard and other office productivity equipment
    • Ability to position self to traverse/navigate around typical office setting
    • Ability pull/push, lift, open/close, grasp/manipulate, transport up to 10 lbs.
