IO Datasphere, Inc. has been providing project management, software development and IT staff augmentation services to our clients in the Midwest and throughout the U.S. since 1996. We are an approved vendor on contract to provide software development and IT staff augmentation services for the States of Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. We also provide these services to businesses, as well as local and county governments, in the Midwest and nationwide. Our client is looking for a BI Data Analyst/Architect professional. This position is responsible for serving as the point person for data architecture at client, improving enterprise data systems and software, implement the client enterprise data strategy, and promote clarity and efficiency in using data to drive decision-making. This candidate will primarily work with the Data Section, Application Development and Support (ADS) Data Analytics team providing assistance with data tools, data integration, and data automation. This position will work alongside other team members to coordinate with subject-matter experts on COVID-19 data reporting and analytic needs.

Tasks:60% Data Strategy, Customer Service, Documentation
  • Document business requirements and business processes, anticipating requirements,
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws for health data and implement effective compliance programs and processes for projects.
20% Data Analytics
  • Build analytics capacity to support COVID-19 and related data functions across the department and provide support for enterprise data analytics processes.
  • Work independently to collect requirements, analyze data, and build data visualizations, participate in quality assurance testing, and suggest updates and enhancements for reporting data.
20% Software Administration and Support
  • Assist with incident tickets and service requests related to data tools (for example Tableau, R, SAS, MS SQL databases).
  • Research and resolve technical problems related to software and ensure the use of BI applications enhances business decision-making capabilities.

Skills Required:
  • Ability/experience to assist in the development of business data visualization processes
  • Ability/experience to develop data visualization infrastructure including ETL tools
  • Ability/experience to develop and implement Business Intelligence best practices
  • 8-10years - Recommending, developing, and implementing data strategies to ensure timely and accurate data representation in operational systems and improve enterprise data management
  • 8-10 years - Leading design and support of enterprise-wide business intelligence applications and architecture and prioritize data and information requirements for the enterprise
  • 8-10 years - Working independently to collect requirements, analyze data, and build data visualizations, participate in quality assurance testing, and suggest updates and enhancements for reporting data
  • 8-10 years - Experience analyzing, designing, and implementing complex computer systems
  • Experience in assisting in performance of business analyst duties such as analyzing problems identified by system users and translating into change requests, gathering requirements, and facilitating testing.
  • Experience in providing technical support for systems on technical issues and providing training for users on data systems.
  • Training and/or experience working with data analysis techniques and tools to query and analyze data.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical teams on data projects.
  • Designing and developing datasets for analysis and reporting, applying data modeling concepts, and experience using APIs and programming with scripting language and object-oriented programming languages (Python, JavaScript, SQL, R, SAS, etc.).
  • Experience creating detailed reports and presentations for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Business, Economics, Statistics or related field or commensurate experience.

Skills Desired – A plus to have:
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST and CIS
  • Project Management techniques
  • Experience managing priorities and monitoring deliverables to ensure timely completion of projects
