We have a wide variety of career opportunities around the world - come find yours.CargoUsing the cargo capacity of United’s route network, United Cargo propels the global economy by quickly transporting their customers’ shipments to and from virtually every major market in the world.Job overview and responsibilitiesThe Cargo Inside Sales Representative (ISR) is responsible for short-term selling, out calls and supporting customer accounts first and foremost. In addition the ISR is responsible for maximizing revenue on widebody flights. Must be an enthusiastic, self-starter, solution oriented team member with a strong interest and aptitude to learn and grow with United Cargo.Serves as primary contact for their assigned account segment. Responsible for total account management including:Creates and maintains account profiles
Understands their customer needs such as transit time, special handling, rate, etc.
Determines the product and logistics solution that best meets customer need
Responds to ad-hoc request
Enters exception pricing into the Cargo System
Completes complex bookings
Negotiates rate/space agreements, always seeking to offer best alternative options
Handles complaints in accordance with company policy and advises management promptly of any situations that exceed scope of authority
Provides professional, competent and timely response to all inbound calls/emails including but not limited to providing price quotes, accepting sales orders and advising on regulatory information about shipments ultimately providing excellent customer service
Develops plans to meet and exceed account revenue plan(s); seeks to increase cargo sales volume of assigned accounts
Actively carries out promotional and loyalty programs as directed
Customer service professional, focuses on what people are trying to tell them
Thinks critically, uses logic and reasoning to solve problems, design solutions and arrive at acceptable conclusions
Works closely with Cargo Operations to maximize sales/network potential
Conducts daily flight “firming” for critical/key international and domestic flights
Ensures service delivery as committed to while achieving targets by performing outcall programs to fill open capacity
Manages overall allotment performance includes entering and maintains allotments in Cargo system
Acts as a change advocate and problem solver. Identifies issues, develops solutions, presents options and negotiating where necessary
Computer literate ensures accurate and compliant record keeping in designated systems. (i.e. Utilizes Salesforce.com for account information, documentation and opportunities
Supports network optimization using Cargo Profit Optimization (CPO) system)
Promotes emerging technology such as eUsage
Collateral assignments, additional duties as needed
RequiredHigh School Diploma, GED or education equivalent required
Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
2+ years sales experience with direct customer contact required
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship
Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification
Reliable, punctual attendance is an essential function of the position
PreferredBachelor’s Degree or related experience preferred
SalesForce.com, CPO and UC360 experience
Knowledge of cargo sales/freight forwarding industry, logistics or operations education
1 or more years of Cargo customer service experience preferred
