Ohio University’s Office of Information Technology is seeking qualified applicants for the Application Systems Analyst I position.The Application Systems Analyst I is a junior member of the packaged and productivity solutions team that under direct supervision administers and manages non-enterprise applications, both cloud and on-premise, including technical testing, troubleshooting, analysis, installation, configuration and maintenance. Contributes to low complexity system development through analysis of business requirements, process flow analysis, defining functional specifications, development of technical and non-technical documentation, defining user acceptance criteria, and on-going support and maintenance. Facilitates communication and issue resolution between technical staff, stakeholders, and third-party vendors. Assists in recommending, designing, testing and implementing systems upgrades and improvements.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:1. Assists in recommending, designing, testing, and implementing systems upgrades and improvements. Develop system and user documentation for the purposes of knowledge management and self-service application support. Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies. Manages vendor relationships. Develop work plans and track/report status of assigned projects/tasks. Participates in efforts to develop and implement processes for application and system monitoring. Collaborates with Systems and Operations, DBA, and infrastructure teams to ensure proper integration of the application environment.2. Recommends a course of action for required systems solutions in the following areas: solution scoping, requirements analysis, gap analysis, feasibility, functional design, architecture, application configuration and development, integration testing, user acceptance testing, production deployment, support, and training. Assists with small projects in a single business area, to develop simple applications to meet business requirements. Review requirements for clarity, completeness, consistency, and work with customers and project managers to resolve conflicts and ambiguity. Provide estimates and document requirements.3. Provide Level 3 support for custom configured and 3rd party solutions. Acts as the point-of-contact for departmental solution owners. Identifies, troubleshoots, and remedies problems reported to the service desk.
