- Provide support with network security products to include intrusion detection and prevention, “Next-Gen” firewalls, content filtering, network access controls, and cloud security solutions.
- Provide project support and firewall management through the installation and configuration of firewall solutions, patch/upgrade monitoring, break-fix troubleshooting and support, and other maintenance.
- Analyze requirements to define and implement firewall rules and policies.
- Configure, maintain, and support additional firewall services such as URL filtering, Malware Sandboxing Analysis, Threat Intelligence Feeds, Threat Prevention, User ID, etc.
- Provide administration and support of alerts, dashboards, and reporting for firewall solutions.
- Routinely monitor firewall alerts and dashboards, raising incidents accordingly.
- Provide administration and support of firewall operational and security audit logs and provide firewall log correlation support for emerging and retroactive security incident investigations.
- Participate in internal security work prioritization, planning, project meetings, and daily standups.
- Collaboratively develop role-based Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) documents and help create and scope a project’s level of effort (LOE).
- Provide support to the SOC team for escalations of technical issues, and various organizational teams for escalations of network security support questions.
- Participate in on-call rotations.
- Serve as a leader and a mentor for the firewall engineering team.
- 8+ years of total technology experience
- 5+ years of experience in the implementation and support of firewall technologies
- Palo Alto PCNSE certification required
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II certification desired
- Juniper JNCIA-SEC certification desired
- CISSP certification desired
- Strong, demonstrated experience with Palo Alto and Juniper Firewalls
- Demonstrated experience with operational and security hardening configuration for firewalls
- Experience with SIEMs, wireless technologies, hypervisor technologies, IDP/IDS systems, and other firewalls. This includes vendors such as Splunk, Aruba, VMware, Suricata, Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper
- Proven ability to implement secure solutions
- Strong network and system engineering skills
- Experience with project task technical analysis, planning, and estimation.
- Experience with technology capabilities in market research, technical analysis/review, and recommendation.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and presentation skills
- B.S. degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Cyber Security. Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related scientific or technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
