Maintenance/Carpenter Wanted (Dover)

We own and operate a large property management company. We are looking for a skilled and hard-working person to assist our carpentry and maintenance department in maintaining our tenants' apartment homes as well as the grounds and associated community spaces.

We pride ourselves on sustaining excellent curb appeal as well as providing our tenants with safe, beautiful places to live and enjoy themselves.

Job responsibilities and duties include the following, as directed by the office staff or the head carpenter:

Respond to tenants' requests for maintenance and repair services, including replacing air filters, installing new locks and troubleshooting smoke detectors

Repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems in tenants' units as required

Test performance of in-unit appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, ovens and coffee makers

Work with head carpenter on repairs and renovations as directed by head carpenter

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED preferred

Experience with plumbing and electrical systems required

Excellent ability with common hand and power tools

Ability to work independently

Ability to communicate well with tenants and staff

Willingness to uphold company standards for safety, tenant service and efficiency

Ability to read and comprehend manuals, instructions, and measurements.

Ability to follow safety rules at all times.

Ability to lift items weighing as much as 75 lbs.

Knowledge of tools and equipment needed to perform duties.

Ability to comprehend and follow instructions.

Communicate clearly and concisely.

Willingness to climb ladders or operate lift at least 3 stories

Ability to work with hand tools and loading equipment.

Work efficiently to meet client and company expectations.

Requires driver's license and own transportation

Salary commensurate with experience.
