Perception Engineer (Mid to Lead level) - Autonomous Robotics

Pittsburgh, PA (you can work from home up to 3x/week)You would be working in the Autonomy & Perception Innovation Center of an industry leading company. The company is a household name and its products involve hardware, robotics, A.I., autonomous vehicles, environmental sustainability, social good, and more. The company and its products make an enormous positive impact on humanity worldwide.Although the company has tens of thousands of employees, you'd be working with an elite team of about 25 people (almost all engineers) in your office, along with hundreds of engineers in your broader group focused on autonomous robotics.This opportunity has many of the benefits of working for an industry leader (such as global reach, financial strength and stability, and great support and infrastructure) combined with the benefits of working within a startup environment (such as a culture of innovation, being able to get things done at a fast pace, and making a big impact on the product).The company will pay very competitive salary (no specific cap), extensive benefits (better than most of the other major tech companies), bonuses, and RSUs.

Job Responsibilities:- Working on the Perception team for an autonomous vehicle platform.- Researching, prototyping, and productionizing perception algorithms to enable autonomous systems to understand the world around them and navigate safely.- Designing and implement computer vision systems for an autonomous vehicle platform.- Utilizing data from perception sensors such as Lidar, Radar, and Camera.- Architecting software and designing metrics to measure performance against requirements.- (If Lead level) Leading and mentoring several team members and growing your team.

Qualifications:- Experience with mobile robotics such as autonomous vehicles or other robotics.- A BS in Robotics or Computer Science.- At least 2 years of relevant professional experience.- Experience implementing perception algorithms for detection, tracking, segmentation, and pose estimation.- Proficiency in C.- Solid knowledge of relevant mathematics such as 3D geometry and linear algebra.- Ability to turn research papers into production implementation.

Nice to have:- Experience with autonomous vehicles.- Experience with real-time sensor fusion, such as lidar, camera, odometry, radar, IMU.- Experience building optimized perception pipelines with ROS, C, C, OpenCV and/or CUDA.- Experience with SLAM, filtering, and state estimation techniques.- Experience working with GPUs, especially on embedded hardware.- Experience with machine learning and classification.- Exposure to deep learning frameworks.- Publications in top-tier computer vision or robotics conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, IROS, ICRA, etc.).- Strong in C.
