RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in Phoenix, AZ that is seeking a Senior Technical Writer.Summary:In this role, the Senior Technical Writer is a senior contributor in managing documentation projects and tactical activities in the Technical Publications department. They should be able to work independently on multiple projects, leading the generation and execution of tactical documentation activities and drive them to completion within required timeframes. Additionally, the Senior Technical Writer is responsible for the supervision of both direct- and contract-writer assignments and activities, such as resource allocation and scheduling, in collaboration with internal and external customer requirements and deadlines.Responsibilities: The Senior Technical Writer will manage both direct- and contract-writer assignments and activities. Motivate team through clear direction and goal explanation Plan, estimate and strategize documentation work; Develop and monitor team resource and allocation plan Consistently multitask on complex projects requiring independent actions Collaborate with Program Managers to meet required and established deadlines Oversee the preparation and release of manuals, procedures and other technical publications by ensuring that staff efficiently gathers technical information, writes content, adheres to documentation standards, draws/coordinates illustrations/photographs as required by executive direction Lead complex documentation projects, and drive them to completion within prescribed budgets and time frames Scope, track and manage documentation process to ensure that high-quality documentation is delivered on time and within budget Initiate process improvements and develop and update documentation standards The Senior Technical Writer will chair weekly meetings with team and program management, communicate and explain team goals, tasks and accountability Review and approve documentation prior to releaseREQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication or Business 5+ years of experience documenting technical equipment and processes within a semiconductor capital equipment environment may be substituted for educational requirement 5 years of experience writing operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, software user and repair manuals on complex electro-mechanical equipment 2-3 years of experience writing documentation in a semiconductor equipment environment required Capacity to successfully lead multiple writers on large scale projects in a fast-paced environment, and be able to manage department resources to support tight timeline deliverables Experience in structural authoring platforms (AuthorIT, Xyleme, or others) Demonstrates excellent written, grammar, communication and organization skills Possesses outstanding personal computer skills and expert knowledge of industry-standard word processing, desktop publishing, graphics, and A/V applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite Ability to explain highly-technical and complex processes in simple language that semi-technical and non-technical people can understand Acumen in research and interviewing techniques in order to effectively gather pertinent information from program managers, engineers, technicians, marketers, etc.Preferred Skills: Information Mapping Acrolynx DITA STE1000D (STE)Kforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
