Senior Optics Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client in Anchorage, AK that is seeking a Senior Optics Engineer.Responsibilities: The Senior Optics Engineer will provide backbone connectivity support for optical fiber and associated equipment Work with cross-functional teams to plan, coordinate, and direct the design of fiber routing/connections/components, end/end splicing and testing of fiber and integration into the network Assist the Government in developing operational concepts (CONOPS), mission threads, and approaches to employment of optical fiber systems As a Senior Optics Engineer, you will ensure system expansions are planned and conducted on a sound engineering basis including management of technical risks Provide senior level support to monitor, design, troubleshoot, install, configure, implement, document, and train the Agency's network monitoring and management tools Provide tool optimization recommendations and assist with establishing setup monitoring that simulates the user expectance for critical applications The Senior Optics Engineer will provide monitoring for all critical Agency enterprise optical assets to include network equipment, servers, and key end user devicesREQUIREMENTS: BA/BS in Engineering or IT related discipline Additional certifications such as: GIAC Continuous Monitoring certification 10+ years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope and complexity Proven experience in Fiber Optic System Architecture Technical knowledge and coordination experience with OSP fiber optic information systems (structured cabling systems for voice, data, video using fiber) Experience in network monitoring at the enterprise level to include WAN, LAN, hardware, and applications across multiple networks Experience documenting and providing recommendations on improved monitoring from both the customer and the maintainers viewpointKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
