Full service restaurant and bar, located in Downtown Milwaukee, is looking for a full-time Kitchen Manager/Head Chef .
We are looking for a committed dynamic individual interested in long term employment. Able to handle fast passed, high volume, work well alone and in a team setting.
General Managing Responsibilities
Answer, report to General Manager and Owner
Instruct and assign tasks for kitchen staff
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Training & hiring new staff as well as getting them up to speed
Responsible for the ordering, stocking and inventory of all fresh and frozen food items
Preparing meals according to set standards and recipes
Helping in planning menus, and overseeing kitchen operations to ensure uniformity
General Cooking Responsibilities
Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Keeping the kitchen, walk in coolers both organized and clean
QUALIFICATIONS
Possess appropriate Wisconsin Food/Sanitation certifications
Minimum 2-3 years cook experience and culinary experience preferred.
Basic Computer and Communication skills
Be able to lift at least 45 pounds
High School Diploma or equivalent
Basic math skills and ability to do food cost analysis.
Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours)
Pay is commensurate with experience, but will pay more for great experience and positive attitude.
