The Housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, comfortable and tidy environment for residents and staff of Friends Home in Kennett. EOE
Responsibilities:
1. Clean each resident room in Friends Home on a weekly basis.
2. Sweep/vacuum, scrub, mop carpets and floors in each resident room/bathroom weekly.
3. Dust furniture, fittings, baseboards, windowsills and doors in each resident room/bathroom weekly.
4. Clean metal fixtures and fittings in each resident room/bathroom weekly.
5. Clean and disinfect sinks, mirrors, tubs, toilets and showers in each resident room/bathroom weekly, unless circumstances require more frequently cleaning.
6. Change linens on resident beds weekly.
7. Disinfect beds, bed side cabinet, over bed tables.
8. Replenish toilet paper supply in resident bathrooms.
9. Empty trash in each resident room/bathroom daily and reline cans
10. Keep cleaning supplies locked in cart or cabinet at all times
11. Keep storage areas in good order and arrange supplies, replenishing from Store Room as needed.
12. Dispose of trash in outside bins in a sanitary manner daily.
13. Tidy up resident rooms/bathrooms daily if needed.
14. Report any broken or damaged equipment or fixtures to Maintenance for repair.
15. Report any unsafe conditions or pest problems to Maintenance or to the Executive Director.
16. Respond to resident requests or needs (non-medical) in a respectful and polite manner and report any issues to the medical staff.
17. Assist in additional cleaning or disinfecting of resident rooms/bathroom or common areas as requested by supervisor.
18. Assist in checking residences if unusual situations warrant and require
19. Respond to emergency situations as outlined in the Emergency Management Plan
20. Maintain confidentiality as defined under HIPAA regulations
21. Attend mandatory trainings and in-services as assigned and required by Friends Home in Kennett.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
This is an active position and requires the employee to frequently stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; bend, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb or kneel; reach with hands and arms; push, pull and lift equipment and items up to 50 pounds.
The employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). Work and days are Wednesday - Sunday, day shift. Some additional hours may be necessary in emergency situations.
