We are looking for an energetic and passionate Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the General Manager in the daily operations at The Elysian Bar.

Inspired by the city’s Marigny neighborhood, The Elysian Bar is a beautiful public space, bar, and restaurant. Guests and locals can enjoy the offerings in the heart of the hotel: the former parlors, the little glass atrium, the iconic, “jewel box” bar, and a lush outdoor courtyard ringed by the church bell towers.

A successful candidate is a “creative problem solver”. To be a successful Assistant General Manager, you should eagerly participate in educational and training opportunities.

The AGM must be able to motivate and positively influence staff. A top candidate for this position must have strong leadership and organizational skills. The AGM should be firm, but also approachable.

Current relationships with New Orleans wine/liquor vendors are a plus.

Must be able to work on your feet for long hours, reach, bend & stretch, easily navigate stairs, and lift carry up to 50 lbs.

Strong Knowledge of various POS both front and back office

Proficient in Microsoft Office, (Excel and Word) Google Docs, and Sheets

Knowledge of social media outlets and marketing is a plus!

Experience:

3 Years minimum of Restaurant Experience with at least 2 years as a Bar Supervisor or Manager.

Degree in business administration or similar.

Great interpersonal and communication skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities.

Good observation skills.

An ability to deliver constructive criticism.

Computer literate and basic Math skills.

An ability to identify weaknesses and provide coaching where necessary.
