The Charmery is a local hand-crafted ice cream shop and is looking for fun-loving, hard working people to be a part of our team!

We scoop some of your favorite classics, like Maryland Mud, Ice Cream Sando, Mint Mountain and have fun with the flavors that make Baltimore so delicious, like Old Bay Caramel. We serve hand-spun milkshakes, sundaes and floats.

We are hiring for full time Store Manager positions for our Towson shop (off York Road near Rodger’s Forge) and our Hampden shop (on the Avenue)

Store Manager

The Charmery Store Manager oversees the day-to-day operations and is responsible for supporting, managing, and developing all of their team members to exceed goals. We are looking for leaders who want to bring our company values and culture to life by motivating their team and serving our community. This role is responsible for leading the team in delivering great service, consistent scoops, and good vibes during every shift. Our Store Managers are always listening and learning from our team and our customers to make The Charmery the best place to work and visit. Store Managers are responsible for all business execution including cash handling, cleanliness, ice cream organization, keeping team morale high, and making sure our customers have an amazing experience. This is a fast-paced & high volume service environment where our Store Managers are expected to create a strong culture of hospitality by leading the shift on-the-floor during peak times.

Responsibilities

Team focused… Communicate with shift leaders and scoopers and coach them to make sure entire team is focused, enthusiastic, hustling, happy, and friendly

Customer service focused… Help each customer achieve happiness through ice cream

Ensure smooth day-to-day operations. Foster and promote a strong work culture to uphold brand service standards

Maintain outstanding store condition and visual merchandising standards

Share about what makes The Charmery ice cream so amazing: our ingredients, our farmers and food producers, our people!

Coach, guide, and support a team of 20 to 30 people to provide an exceptional customer experience and be an amazing member of the team

Lead training of all shop positions

Conduct personnel performance appraisals to assess training needs and growth opportunities (Openers, Shift Leaders, Store Leads)

Deal with issues that arise from staff or customers (complaints, grievances etc) working with the Chief People Officer

Forecast and schedule to meet needs of the team and customers, while maintaining labor costs

Maintain Store Inventory for a healthy Cost of Goods Sold

Manage store finances as it relates to daily deposits, upkeep of safe money, petty cash and employee tips

Meet sales goals by training, motivating, mentoring and providing feedback to Shift Leaders and Scoopers

Liaise with Owners, Chief People Officer, Chief Systems Officer, Production Manager, Catering Manager, and fellow Store Managers on a regular basis to meet goals and discuss store issues

Be a shining example of good behavior and high performance

This position handles several common food allergens including peanuts, nuts and milk.

Qualifications:

1 to 3 years of experience in hospitality leadership position

Open to working in a strong team environment

Have great communication skills and a professionally friendly attitude

Retail or client/customer service experience preferred

Be able to work daytime, evenings and weekends (5 days a week)

Ability to lift 30 lbs on a regular basis
